About Me

Background

I earned my BSc in Exercise Science from Rutgers University and am a Registered Sonographer in 4 specialties. With 3 years of working experience in the medical field as a sonographer, I found my way to pursue data science full-time through learning about precision medicine and the application of deep learning on medical images.

My Journey in Data Science

Transitioning into tech, I took some reviewing courses on Linear Algebra, Statistics, Probability, and Calculus to brush off the dust on my analytic side of brain. For the past year, I also spent my free time learning Python, Java and R.

To further build upon my technical skills, I decided to attend Metis Data Science Bootcamp (Machine Learning Program) , which is a 14 week intensive program with a strong emphasis on project-building and problem-solving. Graduated from the bootcamp, I have 7 end-to-end data science projects in the book. And it's just the end of the beginning of my Data Science Journey.

I look forward to more Data Science challenges and projects that lie ahead of me. I'm excited to utilize the value of data to capture the elusive insights about the world.

Always a Student

I love learning new skills and concepts. I regularly spend time studying and taking courses on Coursera, EdX, Udemy, and other resources. Some of the courses I completed include:

  • Deep Learning by Andrew Ng
  • Computer Vision with OpenCV and Deep Learning by Jose Portilla
  • Data Science Professional Certificate Program by HarvardX (In Progress 5/9)

Non-Data Stuff

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, watching shows and movies, playing VR, and cooking. As a gym regular (currently into strength training), I'm also passionate about fitness activities.
